Lecture on Greenland – in the past and present

Program: Thursday, June 5, 2025

Time: 13:30

- 15:00

Place: Senator Lounge

A brief description of and introduction to a country in the Danish Realm.

Greenland has, not least because of President Trump, come more and more into focus. The attitudes are many and different but also in several cases characterized by prejudice and ignorance about the North Atlantic countries.

Especially about Greenland, but what kind of country is it, what does it consist of – besides snow and ice? We hear a lot about the ice sheet melting, but what is actually happening?

In this lecture, Senator #40516 Klaus Berg will give an insight into and overview of this mighty country (2700 km long and 1000 km wide) a part of the history and the population (approx. 56,000 inhabitants).

Klaus has lived and/or worked in Greenland for the last 20 years.

Ilulissat, the third largest town in Greenland (app. 5.000 inhabitants).

*Event banner: First day in school is a festive occasion and the children wear national dresses.
